To oversee the sampling process and ensure that the price points and margins are as agreed with the directors.
This is a very hands on role and will involve working closely with the marketing team and the relevant departments across the business.
The position will suit a person with considerable ladies clothing design management experience and across many product categories from jersey T's to woven dresses and jackets. Your experience will need to be with a European supplier, brand or retailer at the lower to middle price level. Excellent people skills along with a high level of creativity are sought.

As Design Manager you will oversee a team of designers and will be responsible for developing mainly casual menswear garments to appeal mainly to the younger consumer.
Plan the design calender and present key trends in colours fabrics and shapes to the director and buyers.
Interpret European trends that will work well for the local market.
Range building and analysis of sales to ensure the best products are available for the customer.
You will visit trade shows and carry out market research within different countries and will work closely with the suppliers.
The position will suit a person educated to Degree level with several years commercial design experience within the European market. A sound knowledge of garment construction and a good network of supplier contacts for fabrics and clothing. You will also need to demonstrate your ability to manage other people and to work well as part of a team.

Identify new product opportunities and lead a small team of designers to ensure the best interpretation of trends.
You will need to have extensive commercial experience within the design of children's clothing and have the ability to lead other designers and ensure that the right product is developed and at the right price point.
