Reputable fashionable footwear supplier to the high street seeks a Ladies Footwear Technologist. You will be up to date on standards and be able to demonstrate strong ladies footwear construction and manufacturing knowledge. The ideal candidate must have UK high street experience and you will be commercial, organised, confident and an enthusiastic team player and be able to communicate at all levels.
Responsibilities:
• Work from design concept through to production
• Improve efficiency and quality and keeping up-to date on standards
• Provide technical and development support
• Create and forward technical specs to suppliers
• Source and build relationships with overseas manufacturers in the Far East
• Work closely with buyers and designers and advise on construction, development & materials
• Manage approval and sealing process

Technical Director Menswear

Here is a great opportunity with a business that has considerable expansion plans. A company known for made to measure clothing and one which has an excellent reputation for providing quality merchandise and a high level of customer service.
The business are now looking to recruit a Director of Men’s tailoring development and for this person to establish a new CAD department and recruit a suitable team of technical personnel.
The person will take budget responsibility for the department and will oversee the pattern developments and adjustments along with the size grading whilst ensuring full use of the CAD systems . You will also ensure clear communication to the factories and advise on technical fabric and trimming requirements along with time schedules. There will be continuous communication with the factories in China to ensure production flow and schedules are being met and naturally some travel to the factories will be required
The person will also liaise with sales agents across the USA to resolve any problems as well as providing new information on designs and order flow.
The position will suit a person who has gained a very sound technical background within men’s tailoring and someone who has gained experience of CAD systems for pattern making and grading
Ideally you will be a classically trained tailor. You will need to have a creative ability along with an excellent understanding of fabrics as well as pattern cutting garment construction and achieving the best fit . Experience of managing people directly and indirectly is required.
This is a senior position and one that offers plenty of scope for the right individual and an excellent 6 figure salary.
